So Much More

Jesus Only

Throw Out The Lifeline

Saved By Grace

When I Say I’m A Christian

God Did A Wonderful Thing

When We See Christ

I Believe In God

The Man In The Glass

What Then?

So Much More

"I was a sinner all covered with shame,
Lost and defiled with no merit to claim,
Somehow God loved me in spite of my sin-
Saved me, redeemed me and cleansed me within.
Could I forget it - that wonderful time
When I was saved? ‘twas a moment sublime!

All through life's journey I'll sing of His love,
Someday I'll tell it to angels above.
Numberless blessings He since has bestowed,
Mercies from Heaven like rivers have flowed;
So many wonderful things He has done,
And praise His name, He has only begun!

God did a wonderful thing for me,
One glorious happy day,
God did a wonderful thing for me,
When He took all my sin away."

Jesus Only!

Jesus only is our message,
Jesus all our theme shall be;
We will lift up Jesus ever,
Jesus only will we see.

Jesus only! Jesus ever!
Jesus in all we sing!
Savior, Sanctifier, Healer,
Glorious Lord, and Coming King!

“Throw Out The Lifeline”

" Throw out the Life-Line across the dark wave,
There is a brother whom someone should save;
Somebody's brother! O who then, will dare
To throw out the Life-Line, his peril to share?

"Throw out the Life-Line with hands quick and strong:
Why do you tarry, why linger so long?
See! He is sinking; O hasten today -
And out with the Life-Boat! Away, then away!

Soon will the season of rescue be o'er,
Soon will they drift to eternity's shore;
Haste then, my brother, no time for delay,
But throw out the Life-Line and save them today."

Saved By Grace!

"Someday the silver cord will break,
And I no more as now shall sing;
But oh, the joy when I shall awake
Within the palace of the King.

Someday my earthly house will fall,
I cannot tell how soon 'twill be;
But this I know - My All in All
Has now a place in heaven for me.

Someday: till then I'll watch and wait,
My lamp all trimmed and burning bright,
That when my Saviour opens the gate,
My soul to Him will take its flight.

And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story - Saved by grace;
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story - Saved by grace."

 "Oh, let Thy grace inspire
My soul with strength divine!
May all my powers to Thee aspire,
And all my days be Thine!"

When I Say I’m A Christian!

 When I say, "I am a Christian,"
  I'm not shouting, "I am saved!"
  I'm whispering, "I get lost;
  That is why I chose this way."

  When I say, "I am a Christian,"
  I don't speak of this with pride.
  I'm confessing that I stumble
  And need Someone to be my Guide.

  When I say, "I am a Christian,"
  I'm not trying to be strong.
  I'm professing that I'm weak,
  And pray for strength to carry on.

  When I say, "I am a Christian,"
  I'm not bragging of success.
  I'm admitting I have failed
  And cannot ever pay the debt.

When We See Christ!

It will be worth it all
When we see Jesus
Life's trials will seem so small
When we see Christ
One glimpse of His dear face
All sorrow will erase
So bravely run the race
Till we see Christ!

I Believe In God!

"I believe in the sun, even when it is not shining;
 I believe in love'
When I feel it not;
I believe in God
When He is silent.

The Man In The Glass

When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to a mirror and look at yourself
And see what that man has to say.

For it isn't your father or mother or wife
Whose judgment upon you must pass,
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass.

Some people might think you're a straight-shootin' chum
And call you a wonderful guy.
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.

He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest
For he's with you clear to the end
And you've passed your most dangerous test
If the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
If you've cheated the man in the glass.

What Then?

When all the great plants of our cities,
Have turned out their last finished work;
When our merchants have made their last bargain,
And dismissed the last tired clerk;
When our banks have raked in their last dollar,
And have paid out their last dividend;
When the Judge of the Earth says “Close for the Night!”
And asks for a balance, – what then?

When the choir has sung its last anthem,
And the preacher has said his last prayer;
When the people have heard their last sermon,
And the sound has died out on the air;
When the Bible lies closed on the pulpit,
And the pews are all empty of men;
When each one stands facing his record,
And the Great Book is open, – what then?

When the actors have played their last drama,
And the mimic has made his last fun;
When the movies have flashed their last picture,
And the billboard displayed its last run;
When the crowds seeking pleasure have vanished,
And have gone into darkness again;
And the world that rejected its Saviour,
Is asked for a reason, – what then?

 When the bugle’s last call sinks in silence,
And the long marching columns stand still;
When the captain has giv’n his last order,
And they captured the last fort and hill;
When the flag has been hauled from the masthead,
When the Trumpet of Ages is sounded,
And the wounded afield have checked in;
And we stand up before Him, – what then?

– Author not known.
